BenQ’s revolutionary SmartEco technology automatically adjusts lamp settings according to user content using an integrated software solution. With BenQ’s new ImageCare Mode, lamp power is dynamically adjusted between 100 and 20 percent, preserving the brightness and image integrity of Normal Mode while increasing lamp life to 6,500 hours. Using the new LampCare function, BenQ projectors dynamically adjust lamp power between 80 and 20 percent, offering high contrasts and an incredible 10,000 hours of maximum lamp life. The third new function, BenQ’s LumenCare Mode, initially locks power consumption at 80 percent before gradually raising power to ensure 2,000 hours of constant brightness and up to 6,000 hours of total lamp life. In all three modes, users experience lower operating costs, less maintenance, and better performance — especially in high-usage settings such as an education environment.

This convenient feature allows teachers to blank the projection screen whenever they need to direct their students' focus back on them – or simply when the projector is not in use. When activated, the Eco Blank Mode dims the lamp power automatically, lowering the total power consumption by up to 80%.
The three different modes are designed to allow the projector to adjust the lamp power continuously, preserving maximum brightness and quality while lowering energy usage. With these modes, schools get to provide students and teachers uncompromised projection quality and reduce the total cost of ownership with extended lamp life and lowered power consumption.
There will be times when a projector is left running on its own. To save energy, the No Source Mode lowers the projector lamp power by 20% after a projector has remained unconnected to a display source for over three minutes.
